FLUVANNA REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE, INC.

AUGUST 27, 2005


The Fluvanna Republican Committee met for a regular meeting and potluck social at the farm of Chris and Lisa Fairchild. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Feda Morton at 6:00 p.m. An invocation and blessing was offered by Don Morton. A potluck feast was enjoyed by all. Lisa Fairchild prepared and cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and many delicacies were prepared by the fifty plus persons in attendance.


After the meal Jason Hull led the Pledge of Allegiance. He then introduced Senator Bill Bolling the Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor. Senator Bolling gave an overview of the campaign and stressed that the candidates for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general were coordinating campaigns and running as a ticket.


Rob Bell incumbent candidate for the House of Delegates gave an overview of his campaign. He stressed that former delegate Mitch VanYares had contributed $20, 000 to his opponent and that the John Dean Committee was supporting his opponent with funds and workers.


OLD BUSINESS

Feda Morton reported that the fourth of July parade at Scottsville was well attended and much Republican literature was distributed. Thanks to Lisa and Chris for the Humvee.


Feda reported that Doug Johnson had been elected First-Vice Chairman and Marilyn Schwarz had been elected Corresponding Secretary at the last Committee meeting. Jason Hull has resigned as First Vice-President and is moving.

Feda Morton stated that Republican poll workers were needed for the upcoming elections. See her if interested.


NEW BUSINESS

Candidates Breakfast and Committee meeting will be held on September 24. The location will be announced later. Glen Gustafson is chairman for the project.


Old Farm Days will be October 1. Amil Killianski is chairman. Please see him to volunteer a couple hours to give out political signs and literature for the November elections. October 1 is “Put up your political sign day” in Fluvanna County.


The Barbecue date will be October 22. Sponsors are needed. Delegate Watkins Abbitt has already pledged $500.00. Congressman Goode, Senator Ruff, Delegates Bell and Abbitt

as well as RPV Chairman Kate Griffin are coming. Others will be announced later.
