Voters in Fluvanna County participate in elections for County, State and Federal offices. The terms of County Board and School Board members are staggered, with elections held every year for those offices. State offices and other County-level offices are elected in odd-numbered years; Federal offices are elected in even years. All general elections are held in November.

• Qualifications: To be eligible to register to vote in Virginia a person must:
• Be a resident of Virginia and a U. S. Citizen
• Be 18 years old (Any person who is 17 years old and will be eighteen years of age at the next general election shall be permitted to register in advance and also vote in any intervening primary or special election)
• Does not claim the right to vote in any other State
• Not currently declared mentally incompetent by a court of law
• If convicted of a felony, your right to vote must have been restored
• Registrations: Each voter must be registered to vote in Fluvanna County at least 29 days before the election is held. You may register in person or by mail. For Nov. 4, 2008 General Election: Register by Mon., Oct. 6, at 5 pm
